Leadership programs devoted to the learning needs of women

Business environments are changing and more than ever, women are recognizing that their leadership brand not only sets the stage for career success, but is also instrumental in achieving high performing teams. The Executive Development Programs offer a variety of unique perspectives for women to explore untapped leadership potential in their leadership roles.

This workshop and coaching combination concentrates on exploring the strengths that women bring to their role, with attention given to the creation of a concrete action plan that will further develop the leadership style with each participant. It is designed to increase self-confidence, and draw out the personal power of each female leader to achieve greater effectiveness in today's challenging workplace. Creative methods are used in combination with other individual self-assessment tools to focus small group discussions in this highly interactive workshop. Pre-course work is required.

1 Day Workshop
Date: Thursday, November 20, 2008 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Calgary Chamber of Commerce Club - Salons

Participants will:

Examine leadership issues and the role of gender in the work environment
Determine the dimensions of your leadership style
Identify your core leadership values, traits & competencies that support your leadership brand
Explore leadership success factors through real life case studies
Build your leadership profile and brand within the context of your own business challenges

Individual Coaching Session - 1 hour session at your office

Participants will complete the emotional intelligence assessment on their own and results of the EQ assessment will be discussed individually during a coaching session arranged to fit into your work schedule. The focus is on integrating the emotional intelligence data with the leadership profile and creating an action plan to carve your career path.

1/2 Day Session and Working Lunch
Date: Thursday, December 4, 2008 from 12:00 noon to 4:00 p.m.
Commerce Club - Salons

Participants will:

Use current work issues and leadership challenges to practice negotiating skills
Receive feedback on negotiation strategies and action plan to move your career forward
Develop a compelling message to communicate your vision
Share best practices for managing and integrating work and life outside of work
Network with other Leading Women from the Calgary Business Community

Individual Coaching Session - Date & Time TBD - at your office

The focus is on following up and measuring progress on the action plan.

WHO WILL BENEFIT

The programs are intended for women currently working at mid-level positions in an organization who aspire to advance in a leadership capacity and women who are not currently in a leadership role, but are ready to build on their leadership abilities. The program is also suited to the senior leadership level within the community in volunteer or non-profit organizations. Small business entrepreneurs will also benefit from the programs.
