Donna
brings her senior management and leadership experience to her work as
a coach and management consultant. She was instrumental in the exponential
growth of one of Calgary's most successful oil and gas companies, providing
coaching to managers in response to the ever-changing issues in the organization.
Her expertise is in leadership development, organizational effectiveness
and career management. She has a unique combination of business and practical
experience in leadership development particularly useful for managers,
team leaders and supervisors. She currently teaches both classroom and
online learning with the Faculty of Continuing Education at the University
of Calgary, the Faculty of Continuing Education at Mount Royal College,
and has taught in the Business and Entrepreneurial Studies program at
Mount Royal College. In 2006 she completed research into leadership factors impacting female leaders and has initiated unique learning and networking programs for Calgary's business women.
Donna spoke in 1998 at the CAPLA conference on Career Management, and
at the 1999 Gender Symposium in Calgary. She spoke at the International
Critical Management Studies Conference on the topic of Leadership Development
in England, and she presented at the 2002 Women in Business Conference
on Leadership Development. She presented at the Best Practices e-Learning
Online Conference through the University of Calgary on creating trust
in online course facilitation and has spoken to the University of Alberta Human Resource students on gender issues impacting leadership. Donna also supports the continuing education
of health issues as Past Chair of the Grace Foundation, and was a member
of the Calgary Health Trust Board, and the Salvation Army Health Council.
She is a member of the Human Resource Institute of Alberta, Human Resource
Association of Calgary, The Calgary Chamber of Commerce and The Women’s
Executive Network.
Donna holds
a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and a Masters degree in Workplace
Learning. She is certified as a business coach and as an administrator of Emotional Intelligence testing (EQ-I
and EQ-I 360) with MHS Inc. She has been a Certified Human Resource Professional
(CHRP) since 1991. Her broad range of interests include spending time with her husband and two daughters, ages 19 and 16. She continues to feed her passion for music and love for the game of golf.
